Sync your Obsidian vault to GitHub

calmcontacts keeps your Obsidian notes on the web and mirrors every change to a GitHub repository you own. Edit on your iPhone or Mac; your notes stay yours — versioned, portable, and always exportable.

Get started

Set it up

One-time setup. After this, you only use Obsidian.

  1. 1. On GitHub — create a private repository at github.com/new. Empty is fine.
  2. 2. On calmcontacts.com/app — log in with your email plus the code we send, then follow the steps there: pick your GitHub repository and mint a sync password. The password is shown once — copy it (you can mint a new one any time).
  3. 3. On your iPhone or Mac — install Obsidian (App Store / obsidian.md), create a vault, then in Settings → Community plugins install Remotely Save.
  4. 4. In Remotely Save — choose WebDAV and enter:
    Address https://calmcontacts.com/dav/
    Username — your email  ·  Password — from step 2  ·  encryption off
    Sync, and your vault appears — in Obsidian and in your repository.

Optional: sync your contacts too

A small macOS menu-bar app that syncs your Mac's address book into your vault every hour — new people become markdown files in Obsidian; existing files are never touched. Entirely optional.
